New Direction hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness “Lunch & Learn” Celebration on October 31, 2023 at the Café’
Royale (formerly the Gathering Spot) located at 3906 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue. Over 60 women learned new
information and gained fresh insights into breast cancer, shared their testimonies, enjoyed a great meal, and forged
new friendships.

Ms. Jackie Dallas, UT Medical Center and Cancer Support Community – East TN was the guest special. Ms. Shelia
Hensley, Shelia’s Creative Styles Salon, shared her testimony about being a breast cancer survivor. The knowledge
and insights these women shared were invaluable and enlightening.
