New Direction Health Care Solutions and Cherokee Health Systems are teaming up to provide critical support to our neighbors affected by Hurricane Helene. On October 16, 2024, we’ll be heading to Newport, TN, with a Mobile Medical Van to provide free COVID-19, flu, and tetanus shots. The tetanus shots are especially important due to the risk of infections from contaminated water. Cherokee Health Systems will also be offering general medical care, hygiene kits, and medical supplies.
New Direction will be setting up at New Zion AME Church (302 White Oak Avenue, Newport, TN). Gift cards will be distributed to help residents purchase essential items such as gas, medication, and personal supplies, as long as they last.
We need your help! We are calling for volunteers to join us on this Day of Service. Volunteers will assist with sorting donations, distributing groceries, bagging cleaning supplies, greeting guests, and more. We will be departing from Knoxville at 9:00 AM from the New Direction Health Care Solutions office (104 Lakeside Street, Knoxville, TN) and plan to stay in Newport until 7:00 PM.
This is an incredible opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of those affected by the flood. To volunteer or ask any questions, please contact 865-415-2450 (New Direction Office) or 865-254-4793 (Cynthia J. Finch).
Let’s come together to support our community!
